Selfies with Santa brought Mt. Healthy South Elementary staff and families together for the Christmas time tradition. Families enjoyed holiday tunes performed by the Cedarville University Jazz Band directed by Dr. Chet Jenkins. They played “The Christmas Song”, “Sing, Sing Sing”, and several more melodies. Additionally, the band collaborated with the South Sonic Society on an original tune called “Christmas Things” as well as Herbie Hancock's “Chameleon.” Families also savored pizza and made fun reindeer crafts to take home. Before leaving, students wrote letters to Santa that they put in a special mailbox. Finally, the most exciting part of the event was visiting and taking a selfie with Santa and Mrs. Claus. South families relished this special time together celebrating the traditional event. “It was great to see families together enjoying the program,” stated South Principal Brittany Dickerson. “It was just so exciting to see them partaking in this South tradition.”
